A bit of history

Croissant is believed to have originated from kipfrel; an Austrian pastry popular in the 13th century. Nowadays, it is a popular pastry, commonly served alongside coffee for preakfast, in different parts of the world. It can be sold without filling as in France and Spain, but can also having fillings including chocolate, jam etc and toppings as seen in Italy and the United States.
